Lets Talk About Seymenler Park

Seymenler is one of the most popular and most famuos parks in Ankara. Lots of people go there everyday and it's always crowded. 

You can see an amazing view of Ankara there.  There is the Sheraton tower next to the park and it's also contributes to the scenery.

 Seymenler park was opened in 1983 and it is about 67 thousand square metres in size. It is a big park and Kavaklıdere river flows through this place. This park is a very beautiful park with breathtaking views. You will want to see this park after you read our blog.

What is inside the seymenler park?

   

 There is a large amphitheater in the park which was opened in 1983 in the Kavaklıdere district.

 

There are various pools in the park.These pools are home to some animals such as ducks.

There is the Seymenler Monument,which is the symbol of Ankara folklore.

-There are large grass areas where you can sit with your friends and family.You can play games here or bring your own food and have a picnic.

Transportation

Seğmenler Park is located in the Kavaklıdere district.

People who travel with their personal vehicles must continue on the Ulus, Kızılay and Bakanlıklar route. Then, you should turn left before coming to the Cinnah , which is the Kavaklıdere junction

It is possible to reach Seğmenler Park by buses. You can reach Seğmenler Park by taking lines 114, 304, 391, 135, 188, 407, 413 from Ulus, Sıhhiye and Kızılay stops

This park is on Iran Street, which is near Tunali Hilmi Street. You can find the park easily. 

Also, there are some cafes and restaurants around the park. 

If you want to eat something you can go to these restaurants and cafes such as Mezzaluna, Divan Patisserie, etc.

Seymen Tradition

Have you ever wondered what ''Seymenler'' is?

 In an old Turkish tribe, Seymen was the name for the caravan guards. After the Turkish tribes settled down, Seymen's also adapted to this change and it started to be used for the people who get the bride from her house to the wedding saloon with a big regiment. 

  After centuries, this tradition changed to a folklore culture. On important days or in celebrations, Seymens go to the stage and  dance.

   

They wear their traditional clothes and daggers.
